Back at the beginning of December, we went to see the butterflies. There is a butterfly sanctuary of sorts in Natural Bridges State park that Jessi learned about back on September I think. So we finally got around to going and seeing them. Unfortunately there was only one group left. Jessi enjoyed the one that came and landed near her. It's wings were wet so it stayed for a while. We also admired the view of the duck weed pond:) It was a quick little enjoyable trip. We timed the tide wrong so we weren't able to enjoy the tide pools on the beach, but it was kind of cold anyway, so we didn't mind.
Each of those brown things that looks like a leaf, is a butterfly hanging from the tree branch. It took a long time for me to find it. This is cropped and zoomed in a lot.
Jessi was so excited that she found a butterfly up close.
She even took her jacket off when the volunteer told her that butterflies like purple in hopes that it would crawl onto her. She would have sat there for hours waiting.
Here is the beautiful duck weed pond. Tanner wanted to get in, he didn't think it was very deep. Chris had to show him with a stick.
