Jessi

This week was a big week for Jessi also. We registered her for Kindergarten! That was a big step for us too and it made me feel old. She has started to act a little nervous and scared for school to start, and for those who know her that was definitely out of character for her. So I took her to the school today and we had a little tour by the principal and met her teachers for next year and she seems to be more excited again and not scared. Hopefully this will last until the first day. I know if she can make it past that initial shock she will be fine.

Hunter 6 months

Hunter is 6 months now as of Monday. I can't believe that he is already half way to being 1! It has gone by really fast. He is still a very calm, mellow, easy-going baby. Thanks goodness, since Jessi and Tanner can't stop moving. Hunter decided that he wanted to catch up a little this week, so on Monday he decided to learn to roll both directions and went all the way across the living room. The next day he continues his learning streak, and now today he is constantly rolling tummy, back, tummy, back. I think it is only a few days before he will be across the room to get something. This is new for me since the other two rolled to their tummy and then scooted for everything. They never rolled back to their backs until after they learned to crawl.

Also Hunter had another tooth come in about a week after the first. Again he wasn't too fussy, so hopefully the trend continues.

We went to the doctor on Tuesday and here are his stats. (And the other kids for comparison.)
Hunter: Weight: 17.14lbs.(58%) /Height: 27in.(72%)
Tanner: Weight: 16.11lbs /Height: 27in.
Jessi: Weight: 17.14lbs /Height: 27.25in.
He has come down in his percentiles but the doctor is still impressed by is growth. He is now taking 4-5 8oz bottles a day, I'm hoping that he will reduce that a little since we are starting him on solids. Formula is way to expensive to be going through it so fast!
He is laughing more, but still not a lot. Mostly at the kids when they are jumping around. He is happy, but mostly content to take it all in. He is getting more vocal though and says dadadadada a lot and just screams some times, but not in a bad way yet.
He is also starting to sit up more. He has tried to sit with support for a long time and is strong enough to sit forward on your lap if you don't hold him back, but he doesn't have the strength yet to hold himself upright and so topples forward.

I look forward to the next few months when he gets more mobile but at the same time it makes my life more challenging. I think it will be fun to watch the other kids interact with him as he becomes more entertaining to them.

The weather was beautiful on Monday and I knew it was supposed to rain some this week so we took the kids to the park.

Hunter didn't seem to like the swing much at first and was even a little scared when I pushed his like this.

But once he got his arms out he seemed to enjoy it more. (I love the triple chins in the above picture.)

Enjoy!

Solid food adventures

Hunter is 6 months now and we decided that we should stop being lazy and finally started him on rice cereal on Saturday. He loved it, that day. The next two days he tolerated it, but by the 4Th day, he wouldn't do anything but spit it back at me. So we have moved on to sweet potatoes which he seems to enjoy at the moment. I'll try the rice cereal again when we get to applesauce. That is how we got Jessi and Tanner to eat it, so we will have to try that.

Jessi loved helping and Tanner wanted to once he knew Jessi was. But then he lost interest.

Temple Trip

This month we were able to make a trip to the temple with MJ's family and do some family work on both his parents' sides. It was really neat to be able to be in the temple with MJ's family and also my brother, Chris, and his wife, Melissa. We were blessed to have a family friend watch the kids ALL day for us so we could take a few names all the way through the temple. It was a long day but very worth it!

left to right: Chris, Melissa, Lisa, MJ, Jessica, Adam, Vicky and Mike. The second picture includes the temple president and his wife, the Hunters. They were our previous stake president. So Mike and Vicky know them personally.

Cute picture of the kids playing together

This is a picture that I forgot to post last month. They were going to give Hunter a ride, but right as I snapped the picture he exploded! All over the train, Tanner and himself. At least Jessi and Tanner were attempting to play nicely with him. I think Tanner was holding him a little too tight.

First tooth

Hunter's first tooth broke through on Wednesday! He is getting big so fast. I thought I better document it so I remember when it happened. I will try to get a picture of if for his 6 month update in a week or so. It is on the bottom left.

Go Sharks!!!

The kids love to go to sharks games with Gaga and Daddo. Gaga has given then each a jersey with their favorite player's number and name on it. Hunter even has a little jersey. I had to get some pictures of them in them before Hunter outgrows his. Here they are.

Enjoying the weather and Daddy

The weather has been great the last week and Daddy has been able to spend some time with the kids this week since it has been so nice and it isn't dark when he gets home anymore.

They love playing baseball, and one of the gifts they received from the Easter bunny were some bases to play with. Here they are enjoying running the bases with Daddy as the pitcher and coach.

They also got to help Daddy plant some more flowers in the back yard.

Daddy also surprised them tonight right before bed with a new basket ball hoop. They got to play inside tonight since they already had baths.

Egg Hunts

One Easter we went to Gaga and Daddo's again and we were able to find some eggs that the Easter Bunny left for the kids. He was smart and left only plastic eggs filled with treats since it was going to rain.

Then later we had Daddo hide the decorated hard boiled eggs for everyone to find.

Everyone coming out to start the hunt.

There is a "golden" egg that is worth $20 if you find it. Adam jokingly said that he found it when he was looking at this crazy lemon, but it really was behind it, so he "found" it this year with the bunny's help.

Hunter didn't really have any interest in the eggs or being out in the cold.

Aside from the festivities of the Easter holiday. We were very grateful to be able to hear the words of our Prophet and other Apostles on this wonderful day that we celebrate our Savior's Resurrection. We are so blessed to have the knowledge and blessings that we have. Hope you all had an enjoyable Easter too.

Decorating Eggs

We were lucky to have some friend of ours come over and decorate some eggs with us last week before Easter. MJ was able to join us too. The kids had a great time with the dye, paint, and stickers.

We were also able to decorate some eggs the next day at Gaga and Daddo's house.

Just like Daddy

A few weeks ago we were at a b-day party for one of Tanner's friends. Hunter was getting sleepy so I laid him on the grass to see if he would go to sleep. He moved his blanket and started playing with the grass. This is how he put himself to sleep. I guess he likes grass like Daddy. (Daddy actually re-did this backyard, so he had helped pick the grass)
