Sickness

As I mentioned, we were at the doctor last week. Tanner had been having a weird fever off and on since Tuesday so I decided to take him into the doctor on Friday. What a great mom I felt like when I found out he had a double ear infection! So we got him on antibiotics and he seemed to me doing better by Sunday.

But as soon as we got home from the doctor, Hunter started in on the fever and a little cough. I just hoped it was just a cold and we kept him home over the weekend. By Monday I was getting a little worried about the cough, even though it wasn't too bad, so we went in to the doctor again. He ended up having an ear infection too. And the doctor tested him to RSV. Just the sound of it was scary. Come to find out on Tuesday that sure enough he did have it. Luckily it only effected him like a cold and we have been fine all week. We have just quarantined ourselves so we don't pass it along to other families with babies too. He shouldn't be contagious past Sunday. Lucky for us it will be raining all next week, so we will be stuck at home again next week too. But we have survived and are starting to catch up on sleep.

I thought that since we were stuck at home, I would attempt potty training again, but after 2 days I didn't want to force him, so we are done again until further notice.

Hunter 5 Months

Hunter is now 5 months. We were at the doctor's office on his actual day and I weighed him and he was over 18 lbs! He is a big boy and just as happy.
He wants to be up and looking at everything all the time. He is content to sit in his bouncer and play with the toys there or on his play mat most of the day. He rarely "needs" us to hold him to comfort him, which is good and bad. He is getting really close to sitting up and is very good at grabbing anything within his reach and putting it in his mouth. We love having his smiles all day long and wouldn't want life without him.

Had to include a picture of his Chubb. Enjoy!

Saint Patrick's Day

Some friends of ours had a leprechaun party at the park and invited us. They had "gold" scattered all over the grass and the kids got to go on a treasure hunt to find it. They had a blast and filled their "pot of gold" quickly. Then they were able to "buy" prizes from the toy shop. We came away with 4-5 things which was plenty. Then they were able to play at the park for a little while. I didn't get a picture of Hunter, sorry. He was in the front carrier, behind the camera with me.

Random Pictures of the boys

Tanner started to pay more attention to Hunter this month. He even asked to hold him. I think this is one of maybe 3 times. So I got a picture.

Hunter decided to be independent for a few minutes and held his bottle. He hasn't done it since. At least we have proof that he can do it.

A Beautiful Day at the Beach

On the 15th some of the schools in our area had a day off and we went to the beach again. This time the weather cooperated a lot more. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! There wasn't a cloud in the sky and there wasn't even enough wind to fly the kids dollar store kites.
Jessi and Tanner were in their swim suits all day and Hunter we kept in the shade, since we can't use sun screen until 6 months. They had fun digging holes, playing Frisbee and ball with the older kids and finally made it into the water about 5 minutes before we left. Hunter even took a nap in the tent that I brought. It was a wonderful day and made me glad that we live so close.

1. Big Tanner, Jessi, Nate and Tanner digging a hole. Tanner and Nate seem to be talking mischief.
2. Tanner takes the shovel from Big Tanner.
3. Tanner starts to dig while Big Tanner looks on.
4. Big Tanner decides to get a little shovel.
5. Everyone digging again.
Big Tanner is such a good sport when the little ones are around. He is one of the reasons the beach is so easy for me.

1. Tanner playing in the hole and Nate deciding to join him.
2. Playing together. They were probably playing and laughing like this for at least 30 minutes.
3. Tanner "hopping" out.
4. Tanner finding something else to do.
5. Tanner throwing rocks and running from the waves.
Thankfully neither Jessi or Tanner like to be in the water. I hope that trend continues.

Hunter enjoyed just watching everything going on. I set him in this chair for a few minutes and couldn't resist a picture.

Here is Jessi in the water. I would have gotten more, but the camera was already in the car so this is from the cell phone.

Behind again...

I over a month behind but I will try to catch up and remember what we have been up to.
I think the first thing that I missed was my B-day. MJ wanted to do something special for my 30th so he took the day off and helped me watch the kids that day. He even took them all to Chuck E Cheese for a few hours so I could get a nap in! I hope he makes that a tradition. That is all I ever want is some alone time or some time that isn't stressful with the family.
Then that night we were able to go up to the temple with Chris and Melissa. We had dinner after and it was a nice relaxing night.
The next night we went out with some friends and family to dinner to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, kid free. Again, a great, relaxing night.
Then Sunday we had a family dinner for all of those who live here in San Jose with February and March Birthdays. There were 6 of us! That doesn't include the other 4 who live out of state.
Over all it was a great way to start my 30th year of life!

"Gale" boys

Do you think that they look alike? These are my boys and my sisters' boys. All at about 4 months of age.
