Gale Reunion August 2011: 2 of 3

Yosemite

We decided to dedicate a day to being in Yosemite. None of us had been there except MJ so we really didn't know what to expect. I think all of us were surprised by the drive in, and a few of our stomachs weren't prepared. But after a few stops and a few trips to the garbage we made it to our first stop. It was a beautiful vista point were you get your first view of the incredible beauty of the park. I can't remember the name of it, sorry.

We then stopped for a little hike and a breather for those that weren't feeling well before we went for another little drive to the valley floor (I think that is what it is called) before we boarded a bus to go to a few more sites and hikes. It was an enjoyable, but warm day. It was a little much for the little ones, but with all the adults helping it turned out to be a great day. We wish that we were able to see more, but couldn't fit it in and not too many of us voted to spend another entire day there after the drive. We did end up going once more during the week just to see some great redwoods that were right in the entrance. I told MJ we will have to go back when Hunter is about 10, then we will be able to do a lot more hikes and enjoy it a little more:) (PICTURES ARE NOT IN ORDER)

Gale Reunion August 2011: 1 of 3

So I am finally attempting to post about the wonderful reunion we had back in August. Then I will try to catch up through Thanksgiving before Christmas is upon us.

We went to a resort near Yosemite National forest this year. We had access to a lake, a pool, a creek and a wonderful national forest. We took advantage of all and of wonderful company. We were only missing 4 family members this year. Corinne and her family weren't able to make it this year due to work and David wasn't able to make it because he is serving his mission right now in Brazil.

I will be posting a ton of pictures because I am too lazy to pick just the best ones:) Also they probably won't be in chronological order, but more grouped by activity. But at least it will be documented:)

The POOL was a hit. Jessi and Tanner had been taking lessons all summer, and Jessi has gotten to the point that I trust her in the water with out MJ or I, so that made it a lot easier for us to go to the pool with our three. Tanner was also more comfortable, but he opted to stay in the baby pool most of the time. I didn't complain about that either. Here were are in our glory, I bet everyone else at the resort were glad when we left.

The CREEK. Down a little slope near our rooms was a little creek or stream that the kids and dads had some fun playing in and building a little dam. There was a lot of "fool's gold" in the water that was pretty cool to look at too.
